The Clubs Racing activities centre around our Time Trial Programme (TT).  Often called ‘The Race of Truth’, a Time Trial is an individual effort over a set distance or time, there is no tactics and there is no group to hide behind, it’s all about you and your bike. It’s a great way to improve your skills, to tweak your bike and kit and to extract every drop of speed that your body and bike are capable of. More importantly you also get to go to the pub afterwards to exchange those hard luck war stories with everyone else!

Time Trial has been a big part of the Ludlow Cycling Club from our earliest days. These are low-key, fun events in which lots of Club members take part. Some race seriously, others do them, for instance as a 2-up, for fun. Come along and give it a go.

  • Traditionally TTs are held over standard distances of 10, 25 and 50 miles and on relatively flat courses but we also hold some events over more technical or hilly circuits. The winner is the rider who records the fastest time, but most riders just ride to improve their own personal bests. We offer a full season of events starting in Spring and through to late Summer, all held on carefully selected local courses. We also run Club Championships and award several trophies at the end of the season.

  • Cyclists of all abilities can take part and whilst some riders choose to invest in Time Trial specific bikes, all you need to compete is any basic road bike. You must however, for insurance purposes, already be a member of this or another affiliated Cycling Time Trials (CTT) club. The easiest way to experience it for the first time is to simply sign up for one of the Club's 10-mile events which take place on Tuesday evenings. Events also take place on some weekends.

  • All our Time Trial events are organised for us by our TT Secretary. The full list is posted on our Race Calendar or in more detail on the TT Registration Pages or you can download an at-a-glance calendar of all our 2023 Time Trials.

  • With respect to the entry, the normal club events are all "sign up at the start". Payment can either be annually for the whole season as an addition to the cost of your membership or £4/on the night as a one-off payment for that individual race.

Our annual Open event takes place in April/May with details being posted on the web site a few weeks beforehand. This has to be entered online in advance.
